<CHAPTER 1>

The grounds were overrun with colossal venus fly traps and even bigger pitcher plants. They were big enough to eat entire elephants. A small, sleek creature, the Orilan maneuvered swiftly around and between the sky-scraping redwood trees. It sprinted on 2 frail legs, its front arms being too short to touch the ground. Its long, soft tail flicked behind it, slowly gaining speed until it reached the end of the redwood forest. Looking over from the high peak, the mysterious creature called out. An eerie echo bounced between the mountains. The strange beast’s Sar’Langan symbol shone in the light of the bright, forest green sun, dubbed ALPHA-SAR. The creature slinked down the hill it once climbed up, racing down the valley and getting ready to hunt.
Its sharpened talons hit the toxic ground. The strange feline creature was hunting for the tiny prey they favored most. The Zuloph, a small, owl-like creature. It came out at night. The bright sun was fading into the horizon, casting a ghostly green glow over the valley. It was almost time.
---
A small, feathered creature, the Zuloph pecked at the ground, looking for seeds. The Orilan stalked close behind it, being cautious not to make any sound. While the tiny, owl-like creature was occupied pulling a worm-like organism out of the soil, the swift Orilan leaped out and caught the small creature between its jaws. Beak chomping, limbs flailing, the Zuloph squealed and tried to get away, but the sleek creature bit down hard into the Zuloph’s neck, killing it swiftly. The Orilan brought the prey back to its den, placing it down. The small, swift creature sat silently, waiting for its mate to return.

<CHAPTER 2>
Orilan stalked cautiously through the redwood forest, using its inner glow to light the way. “Orishii, where are you?” The silky-coated creature called. As it headed forward, its glow started flickering. Orilan called once more. “Orishii?” - That’s when it was noticed. Laying limp at the talons of Orilan, a terribly wounded Orishii. “Orishii!” Orilan yowled. It leaned and touched its muzzle to Orishii’s shoulder symbol as the light from it flickered and finally dimmed. “NO!” Orilan looked up to the moon and let out a distorted, somber howl.
---
“Now, now,” Orilynn chuckled, “I’ll be there in a minute.” Orilan pouted “But I want my lullaby now!” Orilynn looked down at Orilan. “Alright, fine.” They smiled.

“I guess it's just another one of those nights,When I'll spend way too much time on something so small that no one really cares about at all…I guess it's just another one of those thoughts,And I can't really find a cause,Whether it's all just in my mind or something more here in my life..It's you, it's you…Oh god, it's you,It's you..If you're awake then I am too,If you're lost then I'll find you,If you're hurt then I'll fix you,If you go blind I'll describe the view,If you can't feel then I'll hold you,If you fall know I've got you,And if you fall down too far and I can't see you through these marks,And your eyes are covered in scars, and my head's filling with tar,Don't worry, we'll find another way out..”

Orilan’s breathing had calmed as it drifted to sleep.
---
Orilan sobbed, tears streaming down its face. “If you fall down too far and I can’t see you through the marks,” It vocalized, “And your eyes are covered in scars, and my head’s filling with tar…” “Don’t worry, we’ll find another way out…” Orilan let out a heart wrenching sob and curled up next to its deceased mate.
